The Caldew Squirrel Initiative has been awarded Registered Charity status with the Charity Commission under registration number 1216015, alongside conversion to a Community Incorporated Organisation.

Our next promotional stall can be seen at Hesket Newmarket show held at Newlands on Sat 30th August. Gates open to the public at 8.30am and we hope to see you there.

Just a reminder that our annual plant sale is coming soon. Sunday 18th May at Sebergham Village Hall from 2pm. We hope to see you there.

Our annual public meeting takes place on Thurs 1st May 2025 at Victory Hall in Dalston at 7.30pm. Please come along and hear about our work to save local red squirrels. In addition we will be joined by a guest speaker from the University of Cumbria talking about their “South Cumbria Pine Marten Recovery Project”.…

Huge thanks to Garry from Garry Lomas Photography for his donation of £110 from the sale of his 2025 Caldbeck calendars and to everyone who made a purchase. The money raised is going towards buying some new trail cameras.

Our year long partnership with the Co-op Local Community Fund has now come to a close and has raised an amazing £2,145.18 ! Huge thanks to everyone at the Dalston Co-op food store and all the Co-op members who supported our cause helping to save our local red squirrels.
